Bahi khata app questions shop owners ask
Built for shops worldwide — Android, iOS, and web. Five languages, CSV import, and a clear digital khata.
What is BahiQo?
BahiQo is a free digital bahi khata and udhar ledger app for shops and small businesses. You record credit you gave, payments you received, and what you owe suppliers. It works on Android, iOS and the web.
Is BahiQo free to use?
Yes. Creating your business, adding customers and suppliers, and recording unlimited udhar and payment entries is free. You sign in with your mobile number and an OTP — no card is needed to start.
Is BahiQo only for India?
No. BahiQo is available worldwide, though it is built around Indian shop habits such as udhar, bahi khata and jama. Amounts are recorded in the currency you choose and the app language can be switched in Settings.
Is BahiQo a bank or a payment app?
No. BahiQo does not hold money, act as a wallet, or give loans. Payment modes such as cash, bank and card are labels you attach to ledger entries you record yourself.
How do I create a BahiQo account?
Open the app, enter your mobile number, verify the OTP sent to that phone, then add your business name. If the number is new, the account is created at first login. To use the web ledger, open web.bahiqo.com, then in the app go to Settings, scan web login and allow that computer.
What does "You Gave" mean in BahiQo?
You Gave records credit — goods or money given on udhar. It increases what a customer owes you. On a supplier ledger, the equivalent entry increases what you owe them.
What does "Payment Received" mean?
Payment Received records money coming in from a customer, or money you paid a supplier. It reduces the outstanding balance. The ledger home shows these as You will get and You will give.
Can I keep suppliers as well as customers?
Yes. Customers and suppliers use the same ledger engine but sit in separate lists, and the dashboard reports receivable and payable separately so the two never get mixed up.
Which languages does BahiQo support?
BahiQo supports English, Hindi, Hinglish, Punjabi and Baagdi (Rajasthani). You can switch language at any time in Settings on both the app and the web.
Can I import my old khata from CSV or Excel?
Yes. You can import customers, suppliers and opening balances from a CSV file on both BahiQo web and the mobile app. The import shows a preview before anything is saved, skips duplicates, and a whole batch can be reverted if it goes wrong.
Does BahiQo work offline?
BahiQo needs an internet connection to record and sync entries so your balances stay correct across every device you sign in on. Your ledger is stored on the server, so a lost or stolen phone does not mean a lost khata.
Who can see my khata?
Only you and the staff members you add to your business. No other shop on BahiQo can read your ledger. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my BahiQo account?
Open Profile in the app, choose delete account, and confirm. This removes your access and your business ledger data. The account deletion page explains exactly what is removed.
Where can I download BahiQo?
BahiQo is on Google Play for Android and the App Store for iPhone, and there is a web ledger you can open on any computer. All the links are on the download page.
How is BahiQo different from a paper bahi khata?
Balances are calculated for you, entries carry a date and an optional invoice photo, statements can be shared, and nothing is lost if the book is damaged. The outstanding total is always current instead of needing mental arithmetic at closing time.
