App or web — which should you use?
Most shops use both, for different moments. The app is built for the counter — recording a sale or a payment in a few taps while a customer is standing in front of you. The web ledger is better for longer sessions at a desk: importing a CSV of existing customers, reviewing a month of activity, or generating a batch of statements. The web ledger signs in by scanning a QR code from the app, so both show the same account and ledger and switching between them mid-day changes nothing about your data.
What you need to get started
- A mobile number that can receive an SMS OTP — this is your account, no email or password required
- Android 8.0 or later, or iOS 15 or later, for the app; any modern browser for the web ledger
- Nothing to pay and no card to add — creating a business and recording entries is free
Moving from a paper khata or another app
You do not need to retype existing balances by hand. Set an opening balance per customer and record only new activity from today, or import a CSV of parties and balances with a preview before anything saves — see the digital khata book guide for the full import flow.
