At the counter you need speed: customer, amount, save. At the end of the week you need breadth: which balances are large, who has not paid, what the month looks like. The mobile app handles the first and the web khata handles the second, against exactly the same data.
Moving in from Excel is the easy part
Shops that already keep a khata in Excel usually have the hardest migration, because the spreadsheet holds real history. BahiQo imports a CSV of parties and balances, shows every row with its validation result before anything is written, skips duplicates against names and numbers you already have, and lets you revert the entire batch afterwards if the mapping was wrong.
Search rather than scroll
A khata book with four hundred names is only useful if you can find one of them. Search by name or mobile number, filter to overdue accounts, or filter to the people you have marked as defaulters. Finding the right page takes a second rather than a scroll.
Statements you can hand over
Open any party and you can produce a statement for a date range with opening balance, every entry in between, and the closing figure. That is the document to send when somebody disputes a total, and it is far more persuasive than a photograph of a handwritten page.
